Baby steps

I always thought this phrase was pretty funny, but in all reality it holds true when looking at whatever you're trying to achieve.  Nothing in regards to fitness happens overnight.  Its all about learning and getting a little better each day until well....you're walking lol.

A child has to start with rolling over, sitting up, crawling, standing up, then walking.  All of this can take up to a year to accomplish.  All of us want results in a few days, but it just doesn't happen like that.

We have to keep pushing each and everyday just like a baby does.  with that same diligence we are sure to reach any fitness goal we set out for ourselves.

Everyday we get up and eat the right things, take our supplements, exercise we get one step closer to where we want to be. Each day is cumulative, each day gets a little easier and easier until it becomes second nature.

TIPS TO MAKE EACH DAY A STEP TO SUCCESS

---Plan and prepare your meals in advance, this simple task not only saves you time each day, but makes eating the right meal each and every time allot easier.  i make most of my meals for the week on Sunday's, freeze them , and take the next days food out of the freezer and into the fridge the night before.

---keep your supplements for the day with you, use a pill container (yes like old people use). most supplements work best when you follow the directions lol, so if its 1 3x a day, spread them out, if its 30 prior to food , well take it 30 min prior.  Take full advantage of the supplements you take.

---Schedule your workout times like they are appointments.  Let everyone in your life know, theres 1 hour that belongs to you and you alone.  In all reality the world, family, spouse can live without you for 3-5 hours a week.  By doing this consistently they'll all know, that's your time and hopefully they won't bother you.

Try these couple of steps and in no time hopefully you'll be up and walking to..............

Supplement Thursday!!!

I think since theres so many topics I'd like to cover and talk about, I'll focus each day on 1 topic, so I'll dub Thursday supplement day!!!
I'm gonna talk about what I'm taking, for the most part I take Needtobuildmuscle products but they have several other brands available and use many of them.

One of the most popular types of supplements is fat burners and the one I've enjoyed the most is Adderllin.
Its a thermogenic with quite a kick!!! For anyone that used and enjoyed the ECA stack either on its own or in a pre-made supp will like this for the euphoric feeling it provides.

Adderllin contains potent thermogenics that help the body achieve thermogenesis. Thermogenesis is the process of heat production in an organism which is achieved through metabolic stimulation found in the synergistic blend of supplements. The increased heat leads to the loss in fatty deposits in the body. By increasing the body’s metabolism, it thereby increases the core temperature of a person which in turn leads to the body fat loss that we seek. You can actually “feel” the thermogenic component of Adderllin. Soon after taking it you will have a warm feeling throughout your body.

So if you're  looking to enhance your fat loss goals, here's a solid product to help you along the way.

If consistency is key, at least be consistenly right!!!

A definition for insanity is doing the same thing over an over again and expecting different results.  We always hear that you have to be consistent in your eating, training, and supplementation, but if you're doing the wrong things how does consistency bring you success?  Just because you start each and every morning with 2 donuts doesn't mean your consistency will bring you success.  Doing the right things each and every day is what will help you achieve your goals.  The same is true for your supplements, right now I'm taking a nutrient partitioning compound called Need2Slin. It aides in the utilization of carbs, the best time to take it is 30 min prior to eating, if I were to take it with my food each time I would be consistent but not effective.  Consistency isn't about eating at the same time day in and day out,  but always having the tools you need ready when you're going to use them.  Lets face it in today's world you can't always workout at the same time but you still need to get your food in 30-60 min before and allot of your pre-workout supps need to be taken on an empty stomach, so you have to get those in before you eat.

So make a plan of what you need to do, and make it consistent so you can succeed!!!

Make your fuel High octane!!

At M-Rods Eat to Succeed, the main focus is about the foods you eat, but also proper supplementation to enhance your intake to further you in your goal.  Starting your day off with a burst of energy will make your day more productive.  So before your breakfast (and before some cardio) adding a fat burning product can ramp your metabolism even more to help get that fat off of you.

Currently I'm using a product called Adderllin which is a thermogenic, which helps create heat in the body and increases your metabolism aiding in the release of fatty tissue to be burnt off.  It causes a heightened alertness as well as a warm sensation for several hours.  Why not add a product to help reach your goals, to me using the right supplement is like using a drill rather than a screwdriver. you can check out Adderllin at Need to Build Muscle

Make Sunday morning breakfast, everyday

I love sunday mornings, it's my day to have some fried eggs, bacon and toast, while getting ready for a day of Football. But weekday mornings don't have to be just oatmeal or a bowl of cereal.  Heres a twist on one of my favs...The Fried egg sandwich Sandwich

Approx time to make, 10 min

2 pc.--- 100% Whole wheat bread
2 lg -----eggs
1 oz-----Low fat cheese (shreaded)
1 tsp----Simulated bacon bits

Fry or poach your 2 eggs, place it on 1 pc of bread, top it with the cheese then the bacon bits, and place it in the toaster, let the chesse melt a bit then top with the other pc of bread.  Once its toasted as you want, eat it up!!!!

For just a few extra calories and some salsa or ketchup before topping with the other pc of bread.

Calories-----412
Protein------25
Carbs-------28
Fat----------15

Wanna cut your carbs in almost half, just skip the second pc of bread, pop it on a plate and knife and fork it!!!!

Now thats how you start the day off right. Remember Eat to Succeed!!!!

Meal 1 or what civilians call it........Breakfast

"I can't eat when I first wake up", "I don't have time for breakfast" . These are just 2 of many excuses I hear for why people skip this vital meal in attaining your goals.

When you break down the name of this meal it's Break-fast. So by having it you break the fasting your body has been doing since you've gone to sleep.  As you sleep your body is healing and repairing the tissues damaged from the previous day.  So by morning your body is in a catabolic state, which basically means its breaking down muscle tissue for energy, and your metabolism has slowed down to a screaching halt.

How do I stop these horrible events????

EAT!!!!!!!

Breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day, but its probably the easiet to have.  You need 2 things from breakfast , tissue repair (protein) and energy (Carbohydrates and/or fat).  how do you do this, well its pretty simple, have some eggs and toast, or oatmeal and a protein shake, pancakes and eggs, a breakfast burritto ( no, not from Mc'Donalds lol).

So when you get up, get some food in you to start your day off right, and you're taking the first steps to your goals.

PS. for those 2 excuses from the begining.........Get up and do your cardio or shower and get dressed so your stomach is "settled" enough to eat, and the other, get up earlier or make your food the night before.

Remember eat to succeed, not to fail

Are you ready????

Welcome to M-Rods Eat to Succeed!!!  This will be a place to talk about eating and suppliments to help you reach any goal you have.  Whether its to gain muscle, lose fat, or just maintain what you have now.
